Who Performs: Kartan
Purpose: To declare the intention of the puja and seek blessings.
How to Perform:
1. Sit in a clean place facing east.
2. Hold water in your right hand and make a sankalp (resolution).
3. Mentally state the purpose of the puja.
4. Offer the water to the idol of Ganesha.
5. Conclude with a prayer for the success of the ritual.
